Lots of Racing Action this Weekend!
Both
V-WTCC and WTCC have planned some serious racing action this
weekend. V-WTCC hosts the second Demo Race of the season this Friday
as well as the second series of Brand Cup Races on Sunday, while
WTCC visits Pau for round seven and eight of the season.
The V-WTCC will also have a busy weekend on their hands as they have
to attend to both events. Race Control will be done from out the
media centre of the Pau circuit.
The weekend starts with the Yokohama Independents Trophy Demo Race
on Brands Hatch, which is held on Friday the 30th instead of
Thursday this time. Vincent Staal, a league hotshot from the
Netherlands, has placed himself on top of the Demo Ranking and
enters the event in the spotlights. Will he stand the pressure?
There will be plenty of that on Friday evening, because the top
eight claims a spot in the Brand Cup Races of Sunday.
These Brand Cup Races promise to be quite a thrill again. More
people have tried to get a quick lap in the V-WTCC Ranking and the
field is now closer than before, but it is again the French
favourite Mattieu Prevot who has put forward the most impressive
laptime. In his BMW he was one of the two drivers that managed to
break the 2:08 barrier. He will be determined to revenge his bad
luck in Valencia with a ticket to Brno. The Brand Cup Races are held
on Brno on Sunday the first of June.
Stay tuned for more news about this high speed weekend.
